B2 Alumni Spotlight: MG (R) George W. Rutter, USMA ’48

Honoring the B2 Bulldogs that came before us to inspire future leaders of character.

Major General (R) George W. Rutter graduated with the USMA class of 1948 and was a member of company B-2. He was comissioned as a 2LT in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War.

He flew the F-80 Shooting Star and took part in 101 combat missions totaling 4,100 flying hours when he retired. His awards include the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Bronze Star Medal (Images and resources courtesy of USMA Howitzer 1948 and Air Force.mil.)
